Description of Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness (JVIB) July-August 2015 Vol. 109., No. 4
As we prepare to make this July-August 2015 issue of JVIB available to readers, the journal's editors are in Montreal, Canada, for the International Mobility Conference 2015 (IMC15). We had the pleasure of hosting a preconference session and writing workshop, entitled "What's the Big Idea? Preparing Your Work for Publication in a Professional Journal," for over 40 participants, many of whom shared their ideas. This issue of JVIB covers many topics: education, technology, mobility, leisure activities, and practice, to name a few. As Dr. Wormsley urges in her editorial, "If there is nothing in this issue that relates to you, . . . please consider writing and submitting your own work to JVIB," we also encouraged the writing workshop participants by saying, "For those who ask, 'Why should I read scholarly journals? There's nothing in them that relates to me,' please know that such publications can only publish the best of what is submitted. The only one who can change what is published is you. Get out there and start writing." The journal's editors hope more of JVIB's readers will rise to the challenge of authorship, and we look forward to working with you on your manuscripts.
In addition to research, practice, and commentary, this issue of JVIB also includes two CEU opportunities for individuals needing to recertify with the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP).
