Description of Starting College Life
Once accepted by a college, it’s time to start planning. This chapter gives an overview of what students need to do to get ready, both physically and emotionally. It outlines steps to follow once accepted as well as accommodations that colleges make for students who are visually impaired. There are helpful sidebars on how to cope with the demands of this new phase of life and advice on how to get involved in the community and how to get needed services. A chart outlines the differences between high school and colleges in terms of rights under the law and educational structures.
