Description of Age-Related Eye Conditions: An Overview of Common Age-Related Eye Conditions
How does the eye work? When someone loses vision, what is happening within the eye and how does that affect what the person sees? This course examines the symptoms of vision loss and describes which eye conditions are the most common causes of vision loss in people over the age of 55, which, according to a 2004 study by the National Eye Institute, are age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. The course also covers the effects that each of these eye conditions has on a person's functional vision.
