Description of Visual Activities for Babies from 8 to 12 Months of Age
Chapter 7 provides visual activities for babies from 8 to 12 months of age. These include activities that stimulate and encourage the use of the baby's eye muscles in a coordinated fashion; help the baby to see and focus on objects and people at a distance; encourage the baby to accurately gauge the near distance of an object; help the baby to coordinate eye and hand movement; encourage the baby to examine pictures, objects, or people in detail; help the baby to concentrate on a specific person for socialization, encourage the baby to move toward a toy at a near distance; further the baby's ability to recall visual characteristics of an object; and encourage the baby to integrate the visual system with the fine motor system by reaching for and manipulating an object or a toy.
