Description of Guest Editorial
How does one begin the process of wrapping up 10 years working as an associate editor for the Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness (JVIB)? Begin at the beginning. In 2004, I was honored to join JVIB, the beloved journal that guided me through my masters and doctoral degrees, as well as my professional daily practice as an itinerant vision teacher. I vividly recall my first Editorial Advisory Board meeting: sitting around a large table with virtually every “big name” in the field of visual impairment and thinking, “How could this be?” How is it that I could be at the same table as these amazing, talented researchers, authors, practitioners, and professors that made up the JVIB team? How lucky was I? I had stars in my eyes.
