Description of Ongoing Assessments: Informal Techniques - Volume 2, Chapter 3 Foundations of Education
Students with visual impairments often demonstrate splitter skills—concepts that are not cognitively fully developed—and the limited responses available on formal tests may not reveal a partial conceptual understanding. In contrast to more formal assessment techniques, informal assessment techniques can be tailored to each student to address his or her needs and specific goals and to document progress and growth over time. This chapter uses the examples of two particular students to presents a variety of informal assessment techniques.
