Abstract: By the 1940s, working with people who were blind or visually impaired persons had solidified as a profession. The decade was also a time of transition for AFB, as M. C. Migel and other early leaders retired, to be replaced by younger men. This chapter describes organizational growth and reorganization through the beginning of the 1970s.
