AFB is seeking a Business Development Sales Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible Increase overall sales revenue by identifying, maturing, tracking, and closing sales leads for AFB Consulting. The position reports to the Chief Consulting Solutions Officer. This is a national search with the ability to work remote.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and implements sales, business-development, and marketing strategies under guidance of the Chief Consulting-Solutions Officer (CCSO) to generate contracts from current and prospective clients and partners across the United States, including those from the education, technology, financial, and government verticals.
Makes sales calls and meets with current and prospective clients, developing and maintaining relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating contracts (in conjunction with the CCSO and general counsel). Drafts SOWs (in conjunction with the Solutions and Delivery teams) and closes deals.
Manages client relationship throughout all phases of the consulting process: sales, solutions, delivery, and post engagement. Maintains ongoing client communication to ensure that production/delivery activities are executed according to customers’ needs and preferences.
Tracks and manages prospective leads, pipeline, pending deals, and other appropriate progress metrics related to the business-development process and monthly sales forecasts using Trello, Excel, Netsuite and other AFB-approved software.
Conducts post-engagement follow-up to gauge and track client satisfaction and secure new engagements as appropriate, transitioning AFB’s relationship to that of “trusted partner” to the client.
Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of work experience in sales, marketing, business development, or other related areas. Experience with disability-inclusion solutions, accessibility, or assistive-technology solutions preferred. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Must be well-organized and able to prioritize multiple priorities. Competency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Though much of this role is remote/work-from-home, travel will be required for in-person meetings that support business development, sales activities, and deal closures. Must be a self-starter and able to self-manage work and goal attainment with support from the CCSO.
