Asking about fashion for blind/visually impaired!

Hi there,

My name is Lydia and I am a student currently studying fashion, looking at the market for fashionable 'careware' and social change through apparel.

If anyone is interested in giving their opinion on dressing everyday, please post below and it would be great to hear from you. Specifically, i am looking for feedback, opinions, challenges, or wishes in what you wear and how you wear it.

Are there products you wish were on the market for blind/visually impaired?
Are you more interested in fashion or function? (Or both!)
Is tech in fashion an interesting proposition for those who are blind/visually impaired?
How do you manage your wardrobe?

These are just some jumping off points for conversation - feel free to share anything! This feedback is instrumental in moving forward with a concept for the blind/visually impaired.

I truly appreciate any and all feedback/discussions and look forward to connecting!

fashion for a blind/visually impaired person

The date on this post is already old. So, I have no idea if you are still interested in responses. But this kind of question does seem to come up a lot from folks studying fashion.
All I can say is there are as many kinds of blind and low vision folks as there are sighted folks and so there are many different ways blind and low vision folks think about style, what each person likes and so on. Similarly, there are different techniques people use to organize a wardrobe and to dress well. You may want to check out visionaware.org for more information and also put "clothes" into the search box on the AFB HomePage.
