Expanding possibilities for people with vision loss

Braille pen pal

Hi! My vision has recently decreased (im not going blind but it hurts to read, write, and move my eyes). I am attempting to learn Braille and am at about a third grade level in books, but I am a senior in high school and want to go to college next year. If that happens though I need to move up 7 grade levels in Braille reading in one year, so I need as much pratice as I can get. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to be my Braille pen pal so I could get some pratice both reading and using a brailler? Thanks!

Re: Braille pen pal

Not sure if you still want a Braille pen pal or not, but I will gladly correspond by way of letters in Braille. I am a 55-year-old male, studying Braille as a sighted student, in order to become a Certified Braille Transcriber. Currently using grade one Braille fluently, while working to upgrade to grade two.

Please let me know if you are interested in getting Braille reading and writing practice.

Thank you,

I am visually impaired but I don't use braille. You could still go to college next year and maybe try getting a reader or using audio books, that's what I do.
