Re:cataract surgery

Hi Jillian,

I don't know if you've already had your cataract surgery, but if you have I hope it went well.

I had cataract surgery a couple of years ago. It's not bad. They use anaesthesia to make sure you don't feel any pain. The surgery usually takes only about an hour and a half, maybe two hours...and most patients get to go home the same day.

The healing process after the surgery takes about two weeks for most people. During that time, you'll use eye drops to prevent infection and to help your eye adapt to the new lens that will be implanted to replace the lens that had the cataract.

Most people I know who have had cataract surgery get better eyesight after the eye has healed.

Please post here to let us all know how it went.

Re:cataract surgery

Dear friend I had cataract surgery in 2008 when I am only 18 years old.The surgery is done in 2 hours by general anesthasia. Now my eye is normal.Dear friend I advice you to donate money to blind foundation or blind hospital,it is good for you because there is so simple universal formula which is 'what we want to receive in life we must first give that things' or in other word if you want love give love, want money give money, want happiness give hapiness and want vision then give vsision to someone. You give vision to someone by donating money to blind foundation.I advice you to visit below website and make a donation for free operation of cataract patient in India. The cost of cataract operation for poor people is $60.So kindly visit below site and donate.GIVE VISION TO RECEIVE VISION.

Re:cataract surgery

I had cataract surgery at 3 years. These surgeries are not performed in a cold room and you are not asleep, normally you sit in front of a laser with your eyes closed and some sort of protector for about 1 hour. There is no retinal detachment afterward, but it will leave a PERMANENT scar in your eye that looks like a floater. Eventually you stop noticing it.

Re:cataract surgery

I know it does not lead to retinal detachment.
