Complete blindness caused by Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome

2 yrs ago my son became very sick from Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, he had 6 surgeries to try and save his vision but he has now been blind since Nov/06. He is now 4yrs old and we live in Ontario, Canada. He has been treated by a retinal surgeon however we have never had a 2nd opinion to see if anything further can be done. I would like to arrange a 2nd opinion and I am wondering if anybody has ever heard of someone having their eyes damaged by this disease.

If you are near Toronto, you can visit The Sick Kid's Hospital. They are the best source for any work with children. Other than that, you would have to research a local eye specialist, depending on what part of Ontario you live in.
