Expanding possibilities for people with vision loss

do glasses with prisms work for people with AMD?

My friend with AMD was approached by someone who said they new an eye doc who was using glasses with prisms to redirect the image that goes to the diseased macula to the OK peripheral vision. It sounds logical and I know prisms in eyeglasses have been used for other eye problems. anyone one using these or know about them? I can't find much research.

Yes, I have heard of prisms to help people with AMD.

I always recommend second (and why not thirds?!) ophthalmic opinions.
