Expanding possibilities for people with vision loss

schooling

Hi i'm from New Zealand and my partner and I are looking to move to brisbane or one of the closer towns. I have a 9yr old son who is visually impaired which was caused by a brain tumor.I would really appriciate any information about giving my son the best education that is offered in Australia. Here in new zealand my son was attending a normal primary and then transferred to a blind and vision impaired school so that he could learn braillie etc, then he is being transferred back to a normal school where he will have funding for a teacher aid. The system over here is quite good and I was wondering if the system in Australia is just as good. As I said any information that anyone can give me would be very much appreciated.

Re:schooling

My daughter was born totally blind. About what level in education should a child like that be up to? What kind of things are they expected to do? I would appriciate any response.
