Hi, I hope to procure a new product for the blind and those with lesser motor skills. I have patented non aerosol capsicum, which has the same effect as pepper spray. I am a retired police officer who knew that in a violent attack any person has difficulty accessing pepper spray before the attacker gets to you. So I understood that my product will deliver capsicum to your hand for you to apply to the face or other region of the attacker. The capsicum on your hand had little or no effect, but can't be knocked from your hand once deployed. This is a significant factor as you will not loose your defense advantage. There are many more advantages if anyone wants to learn more, please email me at kslew@shaw.ca
My biggest frustration with this process it the lack of interest on the part of defense companies to assist in bringing this to market for women, blind, deaf, elderly and those needing protection. I have been complimented many times by persons that understand my concept.

Are there any special techniques for using pepper spray that can be used by a woman who is blind to protect herself? I know that the spray needs to come into contact with mucus membranes to be effective.

I’ve read about the techniques for using the spray with regard to sighted people. I was wondering if there are techniques that would work better for a person who is blind.

I wish there was such a thing where I live in Florida! I have wanted to learn some self defense tactics myself for a long time, because I walk on my own so much of the time. If a bad looking stranger approached me, I guess I'd just hit them with my cane and run like heck!
