Tactile books

I have a cousin, my best friend, who is blind. She has often complained about books growing up. I was thinking of designing tactile books and wanted advice for those looking for them. I understand there is a shortage. I am thinking of doing them just for the preschool, and early education children. Are there any tips, or things you are looking for in these types of books? Is there anything you wish was out there, but haven't seen yet? Would you like more books teaching lessons, or just general books that tell stories. What do you think? Any guidance you can give would be helpful.

Re:Tactile books

Use existing books as examples is probably your best bet. As well, are they going to be designed for totally blind children, or low vision?
