Ideas for blind mother of twin infants

I am a friend to a blind mother with twin infant girls. Among the many challenges she will face, is the question of how she can tell one twin from the other while they are very young. Does anyone have a good trick?

Could she perhaps tie a small soft band to one child's wrist or ankle? That way, she could identify both of them, even if they were sleeping and not making sounds otherwise, etc.

I am new to all of the screen reading reading programs so I don't know if I allready left you a message. Please wrie me with any questions I have survived almost four years of parentingtotally in the dark. I can give you lots of tips. As for telling them apart you are on your own. I feel that you can do it though.

Babies are different, even when they're little. One might cry a bit differently, be a little more fussy, kicking, ect. The amount of hair they have and their size are also factors, since it's unlikely they'll be the same weight.

Like sighted mothers, she's going to have to figure it out with time- having help the first few weeks is important to any parent, but especially blind parents.

Good luck.
