K, "not using your cane" is the worst suggestion possible- not only does that elimate any benefit she receives from it as a mobility tool, it also fails to alert others of her blindness, putting her at a greater risk.

In regards to traveling with your child, can they walk? If so, walking may be the best solution. Invest in one of those backpack-style deals that have a cord coming out of the back so you can keep track of your child. If they're too small to walk, consider a carrier? Mayawrap sells a very well-designed "tie" that can be used to hold a baby on your front, or an older toddler on your back.

I'm sure some blind adults have figured out how to negotiate strollers and canes, but I haven't attempted to do so (I opt for baby carrying) so, I can offer no suggestion in regards to that.

Do you have any sight at all? What about just using the cane at crosswalks/intersections/street crossings?
And pushing the stroller in the traditional manner?

I don't have any kids yet, but I know it might someday happen. I use a cane and when the weather permits I do walk to the store/laundry with a rolling cart, and I pull the cart behind me and still use my cane. It does mess with the shoulders and I have to be so careful at street crossings and make sure the path is truly safe to cross before procedding.

it's a scarry thought the idea that your child could get struck while being pulled in a carriage. Does the area you live in offer city transit? or a cab exchange program for the disabled? I would ask your SW if such a program in your city exzists it would be best for the safety of both you and your kids.
