Walking aid for blind children or blind parents

I just opened an online store selling "squeaky shoes" for toddlers. I think these shoes would be a wonderful aid for blind children or blind parents. The shoes have a squeaker in the sole that is compressed every time the child takes a step. They are a great motivator for children who are not yet walking. They also help parents keep track of where they are at.

You can find the shoes at:

Re:Walking aid for blind children or blind parents

I have to say those sneakers were a great idea, my son is blind and has a small daughter. I found sneakers squeakers on the internet and ordered a couple pair of shoes, They worked just great . He was able to keep track of her, when he was alone with her. I will be ordering in the near future more sneakers.

Re:Walking aid for blind children or blind parents

Hi, I read your comments. I too own a squeaky shoe company called Squeaker Sneakers. www.squeakersneakers.net
The "squeaker" can be removed by an adult when the child goes to Daycare, Mothers-day-out or church so don't worry about it being annoying all the time.

But they are wonderful for keeping track of your child while in the house as well as outdoors (my baby likes to play in the potty; I can hear her when she is in the bathroom and I know to RUN!!!)

Hope this helps.

Re:Walking aid for blind children or blind parents

No offense, but these sound really irritating. True, the blind child would be able to know where someone else was, potentially, but their teacher would become tired of "SQUEAK!!!" when little Timmy goes out to recess or out to the bathroom.

Re:Walking aid for blind children or blind parents

I've never encountered another child with squeaky shoes on. They are very common in asian countries, but here in America most people have never heard of such a thing. They are a novelty.

Re:Walking aid for blind children or blind parents

I see one flaw in this and that is what if there are more then one child in the store with these on? Our child grow up with us being blind so we have taught them to stay with us. It is a cleaver idea and may help some the only thing is like i saaid if there is more than one child in the store or out with them on.
