Any Accessible Cell Phones?

Does anyone know of any phones for the blind/visually impaired currently being used by preferably either AT&T or T-Mobile? I talked with T-Mobile and they have the software available that offers some of these features that works on phones with symbian capability.

Thanks

Re:Any Accessible Cell Phones?

I am currently using an iPhone with AT&T. I was using a N75 with Mobile Speak and loved it until the hinge on my phone broke and I decided it was time to get a new phone. I went to the AT&T store to check them out and was afraid to go with an iPhone, but had a bunch of friends who already had them and loved them. So, I decided to try it, and now I really like it.

Hi there, do a google search for the Motorola Q, it's a great phone, very accessible.

Re:Any Accessible Cell Phones?

I have a samsung phone from verizon. It is not a keyboard phone. Mine also comes with the software. I can either say the command or i can just use it by pressing a number. For example, if i want to check my battery level, i just press four for check item, and seven for battery level. For my missed calls, i press four then four agan for missed calls. After you do that it tells me how many i missed, who called me, what time they called, and the date as well. Enjoy verizon phones.

Re:Any Accessible Cell Phones?

I have a verizon motorola that has voice commands. you just push a button on the side and say what number you want. You can also get the time and date etc. most of the new phones have this. It took me awhile to figure it out and I had to get some one to program it for me but it has really helped! And did you know you can get free phone number info (411) from verizon and I think other caompanys have it too for visually impaired people like us. Just contact the company and ask. hope this helps.

Re:Any Accessible Cell Phones?

Hi

I'm Marissa and just saw this post on google. I'm going through the same dilemma right now. I called T-Mobile and was told they do not have any accessible phones, but then found the T-Mobile Wing and the sidekick online. I'm not sure why the discrepancy in these two statements. I'm switching from T-Mobile due to spotty service and going with AT&T. They have at least 6 phones to choose from and they give you a discount on Mobile Speak. either for smart phones or symbian based phones. It normally sells for $295, but AT&T offers it with supported phones in their offering package for just $89. I hope I have been of some help to you. Here is the link to the page where you can call the NCCD National Center for customers with disabilities. From what I understand you can place the order right over the phone. The link is:

I hope i have helped you in your seach. You can e-mail me if I can be of any further assistance at: marissa@marissamusic.com Have a great day.

Musically,
Marissa
