Dragon Naturally Speaking is NOT for the blind

Dorrie Rush at Lighthouse in NY tells me, "It is counter-intuitive, but Dragon NS is not designed for access by people visually impaired. The usability of speech recognition in Vista and DNS both require that you read the prompts on screen."

Re:Dragon Naturally Speaking is NOT for the blind

I have read several responses on the Window-eyes list www.gwmicro.com from people who successfully use the Professional Version of Dragon Naturally Speaking. It is necessary to train it at first and that training may require sighted assistance. However, once you have trained it to your voice, it apparently works well for people using Window-eyes software. I have no information about how it works with any of the other screen readers.
