woodjoann90 if you still have your Braille writer I might be interested. Last night the chain that is in side the Braille writer fell off its track. I tried for almost two hours to put the chain back on myself but I couldn't so my next step is to call someone who used to repair my Braille writer. If he's not around anymore my next step is to get a new or used writer. Its a little sad to think that I might have to get rid of my Braille writer because I've had it at least since I was twelve which was over thirty years ago. It may have been given to me before I was twelve.

I currently have a Perkins Braille machine. I just recently came upon it during a clean out of my garage. I don't need it myself and do not know of anyone in my family or friends who is interested in it. I am looking for the best offer I can get off of it to assist us a little financially. Please contact me if interested.

Is anybody selling their Classic Perkins Brailler?
Thanks!

Along those same lines, is anyone aware of a place in or near Illinois which repairs the old Braillers and/or carries the new ones? Awhile back my mom sent some in for repair, but I don't recall where she sent them. I think it might've been Iowa, but don't quote me on that. I heard from an instructor at a rehab facility I attended several years back here in Illinois, that they had an on-site husband and wife team who repaired Braillers but that they both passed away some time ago. Any info on this would be most appreciated. If anyone wishes to email me my address is jajoehl@att.net . Thank you.
