Recording audio part of television programs on a digital recorder

Has anyone tried to record audio from a television on to a digital recorder. I am a hurricane Katrina and now move around a good bit to see the rest of my displaced family. I would like to be able to record programs from my television and bring them with me. Do any of the recorders have an input jack? Do they have timers, and how long can they record? Any help would be appreciated.

The recorder I use is the olympus ds30, and it's truly accessible! I also use an audio adaptor (you can purchase it from radioshack.com), and all you haf to do is connect it to the hedphone jack of the television, connect the other end of the adaptor to the line-in jack of the recorder, and it records part of the program for you. . glad I could help.

I looked but didn't have any luck finding accessible digital recorders that met your needs. The digital recorders I found were for voice recording and download to computer. Is it possible that one of the major electronics stores would have something you would be able to use?
