Using Region 2 DVDs with audio description in the states???

I'm getting really frustrated here. I've been looking into what movies include audio described (also called video description) tracks and most of what I see is from the United Kingdom. I've found several lists that identify DVDs that are audio described, but as far as I can tell none of the ones I happen to have include those tracks.

As I look around more most of these lists seem to come from the UK. So, can anybody out there give me some info on using DVDs from the UK? They are Region 2 while the US is Region 1. What I'm thinking is if there's a way people in the states can buy Region 2 DVD players and then order Region 2 DVDs like from Amazon.uk.

In the next couple of days I plan on going to Best Buy to pick their brains there. If I find out anything I'll post it here. But if anybody has info to add I'd really appreciate it.
