Looking for opinions, feedback or challenges in dressing to impress (research work)

Hi there,

My name is Lydia and I am a student currently studying fashion, looking at the market for fashionable 'careware' and social change through apparel.

If anyone is interested in giving their opinion on dressing everyday, please post below and it would be great to hear from you. Specifically, i am looking for feedback, opinions, challenges, or wishes in what you wear and how you wear it.

Are there products you wish were on the market for blind/visually impaired?
Are you more interested in fashion or function? (Or both!)
Is tech in fashion an interesting proposition for those who are blind/visually impaired?
How do you manage your wardrobe?

These are just some jumping off points for conversation - feel free to share anything! This feedback is instrumental in moving forward with a concept for the blind/visually impaired.

I truly appreciate any and all feedback/discussions and look forward to connecting!

Hi Lydia,

This used to be a struggle for me when I lost most of my vision as a teen, but I've learned to develop my own style as I got older. My casual dress consists of bluejeans, or Khakis and Polo style knits with solid or mild color schemes. I love suits and ties, but I wish there were a more accessible way to assemble the two, but I do ok with the little vision I have. Being well dressed is something that is important to me, so thank you for your post. Now if I could just find a way to shop online for my wife, that would be golden!

Hi Lydia,

I think people forget that folks who are blind/ visually impaired are just like sighted folks, minus full useful vision. Like sighted people, blind people have a variety of opinions about clothing: some want more comfort, most want to look nice, others will want clothes that are non-wrinkling (love these, myself), and some would think tech in fashion is cool (though not necessary).

I only speak for me, but the only suggestion I can come up with (which would be helpful for people with guide dogs and all pet owners) is considering clothes that don't allow pet hair to cling to the fibers.
