Extract: Because potential employers may be unfamiliar with visual impairment (both blindness and low vision), they may have misperceptions about what people who are visually impaired can do. Therefore, counselors and teachers working with visually impaired youths and adults must understand employers' most common concerns and teach their clients or students how to respond to them independently. This Employment Update focuses on one of the major concerns: How will a visually impaired employee be able to read and write materials in print?<
