Extract: Personnel preparationOnline course on low vision rehabilitation and Medicare policyThe Low Vision Rehabilitation Division 7 of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) offers the new online course, Medicare Policy: Low Vision Rehabilitation-What Today's Service Providers Should Know. Targeted for professionals who work or are considering working in the area of low vision, the course features information from a variety of disciplines on current Medicare policy; new and proposed legislation; coding and documentation of clinical low vision evaluations, management and rehabilitation services; the types of coding and documentation required when training is provided incidental to physician services; and information for occupational therapists who are independent low vision rehabilitation service providers. The registration fee is $65 for AER Division 7 members, $90 for other AER members, and $125 for people who are not AER members. Three hours of continuing education credit to the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals is available to participants who complete a short evaluation and a self-test at the end of the course.
