College and career readiness programs for bright, motivated young adults who are ready to take on the real world
The transition to young adulthood can be challenging for everyone – there are higher expectations, more independence and lots of social, emotional and financial changes to adjust to. And the stakes are even higher for someone who is blind or visually impaired.
That’s why Perkins has created programs dedicated to supporting blind and visually impaired young adults through this transition – whether their path takes them to college or on the first step to a successful career!
- College Success is a nine-month residential program designed to give college-bound high school graduates and current college students, ages 18 to 22, the critical academic and blindness skills they need to reach their full, college-ready potential.
- Career Launch is an innovative job training, internship, and career services program that helps high school and college graduates, ages 18 to 29, land their first career-track job.
Both programs are currently accepting applications for their September 2020 sessions.
