AFB Leadership Conference (AFBLC)

The AFB Leadership Conference (previously known as the Josephine L. Taylor Leadership Institute) seeks to improve the quality of programs and services to blind and visually impaired children and adults. AFBLC provides a forum in which leaders from a variety of fields—including research, technology, education, corporations, health and government organizations—have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of best practices, refine leadership skills, identify inclusion practices that work, and share concerns and strategies.

The Migel Medal, Corinne Kirchner Research Award, and Llura Gund Leadership Award are presented at the AFB Leadership Conference.

Helen Keller Achievement Awards

The Helen Keller Achievement Awards were established by AFB in 1994 to acknowledge Keller's extraordinary efforts and promote the notable achievements of individuals and organizations that have improved the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Be sure to also view the American Foundation for the Blind's community calendar of events, which lists events related to blindness or visual impairment hosted by other organizations in the field.
