AFB Town Halls – Engage in Dialogue Sparked by the Flatten Inaccessibility and Access Engagement Reports

Town Hall #3: November 10 from 2-3 PM Eastern
Topic: Education Across the Lifespan
Presenters: Dr. L. Penny Rosenblum, AFB, Director of Research
Dr. Tina S. Herzberg, University of South Carolina Upstate, Professor
Dr. Tiffany Wild, The Ohio State University, Associate Professor

The Flatten Inaccessibility report examined the impact of COVID-19 on 1,921 adults with visual impairments and the Access and Engagement survey examined the impact of COVID-19 on the education of 455 children and 1,028 teachers of students with visual impairments and orientation and mobility specialists.

These reports contain a wealth of information on timely topics important to those with visual impairments, family members, educators, employers, policymakers, and anyone else who is invested in accessibility and inclusivity for those with vision loss. During the November 10 AFB Town Hall, we'll be digging into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students birth-21 with visual impairments, their families, and professionals in the United States and Canada as well as the impact on adults attending college, graduate school, or rehabilitation training programs.

When you register for any of the AFB Town Halls you’ll be given an opportunity to submit questions or comments in advance. During the live sessions, questions and comments from those who registered, along with questions entered into the Q&A feature of Zoom, will be fielded by the panelists.

Many thanks to JPMorgan Chase & Co. and the James H. and Alice Teubert Charitable Trust for their generous support of the AFB Town Halls.
